ThatSkinGuy reviews: Cryofacial
Cryotherapy is the use of very low temperatures in medical therapy, and it is increasingly being used in beauty and skincare treatments thanks to its rejuvenating, revitalising and healing properties. Favoured by celebs including Nick Grimshaw and Winnie Harlow, it's something you'll be hearing a lot more about in the coming months.
Even better, it's a totally non-invasive, holistic treatment which can be applied to both face and body (and promises instant and visible results), so naturally I HAD to check it out!
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of trying out the coolest treatment in town when I was invited for a Cryo-Facial at SaiSei - a fantastic studio established a decade ago, offering a range of health and wellbeing services in the heart of Stoke Newington, North London. Here's what I experienced...
So how does it work?
The Cryo-Facial rejuvenates the skin by stimulating colagen production and increasing bloodflow - without any invasive procedures or nasty chemicals whatsoever! The only ingredient used in the procedure is pressurized liquid nitrogen vapour (at around -150°C!!!) which is applied directly to the face and neck. Let the magic begin!
It works by improving the oxygenation and nourishment of skin cells as well as strengthening collagen and elastin fibres - all of which make your the skin visibly firmer and more youthful-looking. Sounds good right?
What does it feel like?
Like nothing I've ever experienced before - in a good way! Imagine a cold pinpoint of air skimming over your skin - it feels intense but is actually very relaxing once you get used to it. You wouldn't expect anything at -200°C to feel that nice but it was so chilled (!) that I almost forgot I was having it done. It feels like a real treat for your face.
What are the benefits for my skin?
Immediate tightening of skin
Reduction in pore size
Reduction of facial inflammation (“puffiness”)
Decrease wrinkles and lines (I DEFINITELY noticed an immediate difference after my treatment - genuinely impressed!)
Stimulation of collagen production
I can honestly say that after my first 20-minute session the results were better than I expected. I've had lines on my forehead for years (I'm telling myself they're genetic and not age-related!) - and they definitely looked less prominent after my Cryo-Facial. Win!
Where can I get it?
I'm glad you asked! You can visit the SaiseiCryo website and book yourself a treatment at the studio in Stoke Newington, London by clicking here. Trust me, you won't regret it!
