ThatSkinGuy reviews: Pulsin Pea Protein

The most peas-ing protein powder I've ever used!

The most peas-ing protein powder I've ever used!

Summer's here and if you didn't get the summer body you were working for all winter you're probably still grinding away at the gym in your lunchbreaks and evenings. I've tried lots of different products over the years to help build muscle, but it can be really difficult finding a good protein source that gives you results, doesn't make your stomach churn in the process and that isn't full of nasty chemicals.

I stumbled upon Pulsin Pea Protein a while back and have found it so much better for me than typical high-street brands which are often filled with sugar, sweeteners or other things which you don't really want in your body.  Instead, pea protein is vegan, healthy, low in fat and has ZERO added sugar or sweeteners. WIN!

Now, i'm not going to lie to you and say it tastes like other protein powders you might be used to. Instead of artificial strawberry, vanilla, cookies and cream or other flavours, Pea Protein has a completely neutral taste - which is a bonus because you can add whatever you like to suit your tastes. It's really versatile and can be mixed into anything from smoothies to soups to give you an extra protein hit. I made a breakfast smoothie with bananas, strawberries, skimmed milk and a serving of pea protein which was DELICIOUS - but really you can try it with anything and use it as a thickener as well.

So why should I try pea protein over my usual one?

  • No added sugar or sweeteners

  • Vegan

  • Naturally rich in iron and zinc

  • High in protein (80% per serving)

  • Very low in saturated fat

  • Low-calorie (41kcal per serving)

  • Great value for money

So if you're looking for a natural alternative to help boost your workout I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. You can get a 250g tester pack containing 10 servings from Boots for just £6! What are you waiting for?
